Terms and conditions

The following rules are integral part of the contract stipulated between Homelands and its guests.Everything that is not explicitly mentioned refers to the actual rules and good taste, good manners and good sense, in the interest of all.

Welcome to Homelands.

01. Online Booking issues

In case of any booking issue or confusion, caused from travel fare website engines such as Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels, Late Rooms or any other, a direct call from the guest to the involved Agency will have to be made before the check in, for both parties peace of mind.

02. Check in - Check-out

Check In time is from 4 to 8pm. Check-out time is by 10am. For early check outs, please have payment, if not prepaid, sorted the night before, otherwise they will have to be done once breakfast has been served.

03. Room keys on departure

Please give back the room keys, alternatively leave them on the table at the entrance. Guests do not have to lock the door on departure. However please close the door completely when leaving.

04. Lost key or damage to locks

The cost for replacement of lost room keys or damaged locks is applicable and a total amount of 60pounds in case of lost keys (as ALL the main entrance keys of each room will have to be replaced for safety) and 100pounds for lock replacement, to be paid immediately.

05. Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the dining room area from 8 to 9.

06. Smoking

Smoking is completely forbidden inside the house. Smoking is permitted outside the house, please ask for an ashtray.

07. Guest Rooms

Food is permitted in the rooms but please take utmost care to avoid any soiling or staining of bedding and carpets. Guests will be charged for any damage of which they are responsible for. The Breakfast Room use is permitted only for Breakfast.

08. Valuables, security and storage

The management is not responsible for lost items. Please close your room door when you leave. Bicycles have to be stored in our secure locked space in the back, please also advise in case of other belongings , which are not usually allowed in the rooms.

09. General

Guests have no access to rooms and areas marked as “PRIVATE”. Ring the bell on the door for attention, if urgent.

10. Lounge

Guests are allowed to use this room, feeling free to read the books and guides, making sure they will be left in the same conditions they found them. Eating, drinking and snacking in the living room is not permitted. Should be kept as you’ve found it nice and tidy. If by any chance you notice any dirt please inform the owner.

11. Respect

Please Avoid making noise or disturbing the other house guests, musical instruments, radio, television, stereo, and/or any other source of amplified sound shall be played at a volume that will not disturb or annoy other guests. Guests should pay particular attention to limiting noise between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. , when coming back late. Homelands also requests the guests to restrain from making any noise outside the building, in the courtyard or directly in front of the building.

12. Pet Policy

Homelands loves pets and they are happily allowed, free of charge in the Charles Dickens Garden Room. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. There is an extra pet cleaning fee if evidence of excessive dirt is found in the guest house; Dogs fouling is not permitted in the garden. Green areas are easily reachable from the back door. All pets must be under the complete control of a responsible guest, and must be on a hand-held leash at all times. The guest agrees NOT to leave pet(s) alone in the room. Pets are welcome in the breakfast room if well behaved.

13. Respect for our House and other guests

Any damage to the house or room will have to be charged

14. Environmental Policy

Owners of Homelands Guest House are dedicated to the protection of our planet resources and would encourage our guests to help by:

  • Switching off lights when not in use;
  • Ensuring that taps are always turned off after use;
  • Recyclable rubbish will be collected from guest rooms i.e. paper, plastic, metal and glass;

15. Cancellation Policy

Homelands Guest House is a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on it, especially if potential guests have been turned away in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels.

Homelands Guest House however does appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can intervene, so the management tries to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases. In the event of a cancellation up to 2 days, prior to the scheduled date of arrival, no charge will be applied. If you cancel your reservation within 2 days of the scheduled date of arrival, a cancellation charge equivalent to the room (s) single night rate will be applied. Guests failing to arrive (without notification), may be responsible to a charge equivalent to the total reservation price.

House Rules

Dear Guest, this is a private house, therefore Glenda and Daniele ask you to be kind and respectful. Thank you.

Respect our staff, aggressive behaviour won't be tolerated
Do not take cutlery from the breakfast room tables
Do not touch the shower ceiling cord switch
No parties in the rooms
Only guests are allowed in the rooms
No smoking
Please turn lights off when you leave the room
Please respect check in and check out times
Any damage caused at the property will be charged
Please take extra care of your keys and door's lock, lost key or damages incur a replacement fee
Please do not rearrange furniture
No bicycles in the room
No dog fouling in the garden
Please keep noise at the minimum
It is a toilet not a bin
Cooking in the room is not allowed
